Cypress is one of the best places to live in Texas, and we concur. Its beautiful wilderness, lakes, warm weather, surrounding neighborhoods, and proximity to Dallas make it an idyllic place to live or visit. Having the right vehicle can help you make the most of your daily life in this vibrant town. The car you choose to drive isn’t what makes the surroundings beautiful, but it can certainly affect how you experience it. For residents in the market for a new vehicle and are looking for a Cypress Texas Chevy dealer, look no further than Parkway Chevrolet. We are your premier Chevrolet dealership, conveniently located in Tomball, TX, and have an extensive selection of vehicles to meet the challenges of living in this unique corner of southern Texas.

As a proud Chevy dealer, we like to ensure that each customer walks away with a vehicle well-suited to their family’s specific needs. Of course, every family is different, and we want to make sure that your vehicle is catered specifically to you and your loved ones. There are some general commonalities among Cypress families due to the uniquely beautiful environment, so we want to share some great family-friendly Chevy models that might appeal to them.

Of course, there are an array of different types of vehicles, each providing a different kind of experience. When it comes to family life, however, three vehicle types that usually come in handy are SUVs, trucks, and cars, usually in that order of importance. Although trucks and cars are second and third, that doesn’t make them any less important. Let’s take a closer look and understand better which vehicles are perfectly designed for Cypress families.

Family-Friendly SUVs

SUVs have dominated the family market for decades now. While minivans were once the go-to family hauler, the increased cargo capacity of SUVs, combined with their power, reliability, and space, made them the new reigning vehicle among growing families. In terms of interior space, SUVs are ideal because they can provide cargo space, passenger space, and unique combinations of both. Some full-size SUVs provide more cargo space than pickup trucks while still being able to seat more passengers.

This spacious interior is ideal for families, large and small, because it provides a balance of roomy seating, ensuring a comfortable ride for everyone, combined with the cargo room to carry anything you may need for your journey. Whether it’s an epic trip to Big Bend National Park or spending the day in downtown Houston, Chevy SUVs have you covered. They’re one of Chevy’s many strong suits, and three, in particular, are well-suited to Cypress drivers: the Suburban, the Tahoe, and the Traverse.

The Suburban is Chevy’s longest-lasting nameplate, with 88 years on the market. Vehicles don’t last that long unless they are reliable, and the Suburban’s excellence in performance, capacity, design, and technology has only strengthened throughout its almost century-long history. Having undergone a major-league makeover and being released as “All-New” for the 2021 model year, the new Suburban provides a maximum cargo space of 144.7 cu.ft. with its seats folded down. That’s an astounding amount, which is more cargo space than the acclaimed Silverado pickup truck.

Of course, the Suburban utilizes this amazing interior space to expand its leading luxury features, including an abundance of beautiful color schemes and leading technology like the first-in-class power sliding center console and the 10.2-inch diagonal Infotainment 3 Premium touchscreen display with built-in Google. It’s an ideal ride for Cypress families looking for maximum seating, space, and refinement.

Of course, the close sibling of the Suburban is the Tahoe, so close that the “All-New” makeover was mutual. This new Tahoe has seriously upped its game with sixty-six percent more cargo space; both vehicles received a new chassis design, so they’ve increased their size, which is more noticeable in the Tahoe, with an available 122.9 cu.ft. of space. It’s a great option for those who like the Suburban but feel it’s just a bit too big. The Tahoe provides almost everything you’d hope to find in the Suburban; it’s just slightly more compact. Both the Suburban and the Tahoe are leading luxury full-size SUVs and provide comfortable rides, luxury features, and lots of space.

If you like the idea of an SUV and need all three rows of seats, but feel like a full-size SUV is just too big, then the Traverse is the next place to look. It’s a three-row SUV that’s mid-size, so its interior is a bit tighter, with a maximum cargo volume of 98.2 cu.ft. The design benefit of the Traverse is that it features a sportier design not found in a full-size SUV. While some of the Suburban and Tahoe features could be considered “sporty,” the size of the vehicles puts them in more of a “luxury” category. The Traverse, however, is compact enough to take on a little more of the sports-car feel while still providing the benefits of an SUV body.

The other big benefit to the Traverse is that its mid-size build gives it a significantly more affordable price tag. The Suburban and Tahoe are worth the extra money if you want the full-size build and space, but if a mid-size model appeals to you better, you might as well save some money too. Plus, with the average one-way commute in Cypress averaging around 34 minutes, the Traverse makes a great traveler for those driving into Dallas for work every day.

All three SUVs will drive you around the surrounding area in a fun, effective, and enjoyable experience. In addition to the interior space, they provide the capacity for roof storage, so if you want to enjoy one of the many lakes on a kayak, canoe, paddle board, or anything else, you can store them inside or on top of the car. Having cargo space means more room for packing and more freedom to travel anywhere and be fully equipped for your next adventure.

Trucks That Are Ready for Adventure

Pickup trucks are not usually considered family vehicles due to their traditional lack of seating, but if you’re looking at purchasing a second vehicle, a truck can be a great asset to your family. Even if you’re not hauling cargo for work, a pickup bed can provide a great platform for fun. Let’s return to our “day on the lake” scenario from the SUV segment. Having a pickup bed provides storage for camping gear, a setup area for a picnic, a seating area for the kids, and anything else you can imagine. If recreation is your intended purpose, you’re probably not looking for a work truck. While the Silverado is an acclaimed full-size pickup, it might be a bit much for your purposes. So, let’s take a look at the Colorado.

As a mid-size pickup, the Colorado is less focused on work capability, and more focused on recreation, even providing several off-roading options, especially with the new 2023 model. If you’re trying to venture far out into the remote areas of Texas, you can push it to its limits on the trails, but it will still be equally as fun and effective right here in the surrounding Cypress area. Because it is a mid-size pickup, the Colorado provides the fun and practicality of having a pickup bed, which offers an available 49.9 cu.ft. of cargo space, but it is still compact enough to wander through neighborhood streets, commute into Dallas, and still fit in the garage. Just as trucks can lead to serious work, they can also lead to serious fun. You may be surprised at how much your family enjoys a mid-size truck like the Colorado.

Fuel Efficient, Commuter-Friendly Sedans

Because of its proximity to Dallas, Cypress is a big commuter neighborhood. With a commuter neighborhood comes the need for fuel-efficient and reliable vehicles. Drivers want to save money at the pump but don’t want to compromise on important features like safety, comfort, and innovative technology. After all, they’ll be spending an extensive amount of time in their chosen ride, so why not enjoy every minute of it? Meet your next commuter, the Chevy Malibu.

This acclaimed sedan has been going strong for almost fifty years and is both luxurious and highly efficient. Fuel economy is one of the greatest assets in a commuter vehicle because the whole point is to make the daily trip as cost-effective as possible. Trips to the pump add up quickly and become costly, but with the right vehicle, your wallet doesn’t have to suffer. The 2022 Malibu has an EPA-estimated fuel economy of up to 29 MPG in the city and 36 MPG on the highway; that is amazing for direct injection. But, if you’re open to purchasing a used vehicle, the 2019 Malibu hybrid offers an EPA-estimated economy of 49 MPG in the city and 43 MPG on the highway. Those are unbeatable numbers, which means you’ll have unbeatable savings.

If you’re looking for a standard sedan, the LS trim provides you with everything you need, but if you want to get sporty, you can look at the RS or the Premier. The RS focuses on crafting a dark complexion and makes for an overall refined aesthetic; this is a great trim for traveling to work or a night out in downtown Dallas. Packed with an array of great safety and innovative technology like automatic emergency braking and smartphone connectivity like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, the Malibu was designed for Cypress commuters.
