A person is shown looking up how to 'sell your car' on a computer.

Do you have an old car sitting in your garage that you just don’t know what to do with? Or maybe it’s not sitting in the garage; maybe you are driving the old thing even though it stopped meeting your needs years ago. Well, you may be surprised to know that you could be denying yourself a new car or even a good deal of money. You may be thinking, “sell my car? Yeah, right.” But it is actually a much easier process than it sounds, and the benefits could be tremendous! Today let’s go through the top 10 reasons to sell your car.

#1 – It’s Easy to Buy a New Car

If you’ve gotten sick of your current vehicle, you probably want a new car. But you may think, “I haven’t got the funds for that right now, so I’ll have to save up and live with my current vehicle until I’m there.” This doesn’t have to be the case. You can sell your car today and be in a new car by next week if you so desire. Sometimes when you hear “sell your car,” you may picture a mysterious car on the side of the ride with a “For Sale” sign tucked in the windshield. We agree with you that this is not a good sales method, which is why we make it easy to sell your vehicle. At Parkway Chevrolet, we will buy your car from you if you desire! We don’t want anything to come between you and a new vehicle.

#2 – Take Advantage of High Resale Values

An important thing to track (and an important thing to research when buying a new vehicle) is your current vehicle’s resale value. Not all cars resell as easily as others. However, you may be surprised to know that most of the cars with the best resale value are the mainstream, mid-range models; you don’t need to own a Ferrari or a Corvette to get terrific resale value. For example, if you drive a Honda, a Hyundai, a Subaru, a Dodge, or our personal favorite––a Chevy––chances are that your vehicle has better resale value than you know. This means that you could sell your car for a price quite close to the one you paid when you purchased the vehicle new. Even if you don’t purchase a new car immediately, your old vehicle could be a terrific source of income when you need it most.

#3 – Put Money in Your Pocket

Yes, that’s right; your old vehicle could be a source of money. While we are always excited by new (or used) car sales, you may not be ready for a new vehicle right away. If you live in a part of Houston where driving is not strictly necessary and walking or public transportation can do the trick for a while, then maybe you don’t need a new vehicle right away. If that is the case, then why keep the vehicle as a garage warmer when you could cash in for a fantastic sum of money? If you are not sure how you are going to make ends meet this year and you find that your car doesn’t see much action, then saying bye-bye to the car could help alleviate some of your financial stress.

#4 – Trade-In On a New Car

If you want to go straight from your old vehicle to a new one, we’ve certainly got the answer for you. With a trade-in, you can cut out the middleman and go straight from one vehicle to the other. Why complicate things? If you know what you’re looking for next, the team here at Parkway Chevrolet will be able to work out a trade-in deal with you to help make the transition smooth and get you behind the wheel of your next vehicle. If you are certain that you are ready to turn right around into a new vehicle, we feel this is a fantastic (and an important) option because you could be depriving yourself by driving a vehicle that is not up-to-date.

#5 – Make Your Life Easier

There is a big risk component in driving an old vehicle. If your current car is on its last legs, you can never be sure when it will leave you stranded. A strong car is a good investment because you want to be behind the wheel of something that you can always rely on to get you where you need to go every time. If your car is ready to go at any moment, that also means that you need to have your wallet open at every moment, ready to pay for the next repair. We don’t want that for you. But, it goes beyond merely financial risk.

#6 – Drive a Safer Vehicle

Aside from any unexpected expenses that you may incur, there is also the safety risk. Driving a dated vehicle is unsafe if it is not running properly or if certain features are beginning to malfunction. While we all hope that disaster does not occur, the unfortunate truth is that it could happen to any one of us. You don’t want to take that risk, especially if you are driving kids around. Aside from the component of immediate safety risks, safety technology has come so far that almost any vehicle you buy (whether new or used) will have safety features that work overtime to prevent disaster from occurring. Whether your situation is unsafe or just not ideal, why not drive more safely in a newer vehicle?

#7 – Enjoy New Technology Features

Whether it is technology that works overtime to keep you safe or merely fun entertainment and connectivity features, chances are that your current vehicle is lacking the newest tech. What is exciting is that many of these newer high-tech features such as Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, or even just a basic infotainment screen are no longer reserved for the highest and best models only. Most mid-priced vehicles made within the past few years include features such as these, so selling your old car could give you access to better connectivity, which can certainly enhance the driving experience for both you and your passengers.

#8 – Experience Upgraded Performance

If technology isn’t the thing that speaks to you in a vehicle, but performance is the name of the game for you, then it’s the same story: there are some more recent mid-range vehicles that have performance capabilities far beyond anything you would have seen ten years ago. We live in an era when 400+ horsepower is not uncommon; things are looking up for the auto industry, and you could be in for a more exciting drive than ever if you let go of your current vehicle.

#9 – Upsize or Downsize to Fit Your Lifestyle

Sometimes your vehicle stops accommodating your current lifestyle. Maybe the family is growing, and you now need an SUV instead of a sedan. Or maybe all your kids have grown up, and you’re looking to get rid of the minivan in favor of a sports car. Whatever the situation is, selling your car will allow you to upsize or downsize according to your lifestyle.

#10 – Have Peace of Mind

Selling your car won’t take care of every problem in your life, and we don’t want to pretend that it will. But, sometimes clearing out old, dated belongings can be good for our mental health and help us feel a little bit more free. A car is a big and expensive piece of property. If it is serving you well, then it is certainly a worthwhile one. But if it no longer suits your needs, then you could be denying yourself the benefit of more money, a new vehicle, or simply the peace of mind of having that burden off of your hands.

Making it Happen

Want to sell your car? It’s not hard to do! Why? Because we will buy it from you! If you are sold on selling your car, we want to make it as easy as possible. Whether you’re looking at a trade-in or a straight sale, we can assist you. There are lots of good reasons to sell your vehicle, and whatever reason is driving you today, then Parkway Family Chevy is there to see you through the entire process.
