With over 100 years of experience creating cars that Americans love to drive, Chevrolet has practically cracked the code of what consumers want to experience behind the wheel. They established early on that the features drivers once thought had to come with a high price tag could be affordable to all. In their way, they made the American Dream a bit more possible. If you’re looking to experience one for yourself and you’re in the outskirts of Houston, put us at the top of your list and stop by any of our Tomball car dealerships.

In addition to making traditionally expensive features affordable to most consumers, Chevrolet did one other impressive thing—it manufactured top-selling vehicles of several body types. While some manufacturers mostly shine in making one type of car, Chevy kicked down the doors and proved that it could deliver all of the features people like about the brand in a variety of vehicle types. Below are top-selling vehicles from Chevy in (nearly) everybody category.

The Chevy Silverado

The Silverado has been one of America’s favorite pickup trucks for decades. When you think of a reliable, sturdy, and impressive pickup with a lot of power, this truck often comes to mind. In fact, the Silverado has appeared in many films and TV shows that are synonymous with American life, like “Friday Night Lights” and “NCIS.”

As for non-movie stars, consumers love the truck because of its impressive towing capabilities. It still boasts a smooth and easy driving experience despite its impressive power. While it’s certainly ready for professionals in any industry that need to haul a lot of stuff, it’s more than a work truck. It’s evolved and captured itself a seat at the table with luxury vehicles. The newer renditions are packed with elevated-feeling interiors and advanced technology. The cabin feels smooth, so it obliterates the old stereotype of trucks making for a bumpy ride. With over 40,000 Chevy Silverados sold in 2021, we don’t see the popularity of this iconic truck dropping any time soon.

The Chevy Camaro

The Camaro hit the scene in 1966 and became an instant classic. You probably have memories of seeing your first Camaro. It has such a cool vibe and instantly turns heads. It’s no wonder this one has also had its time on the silver screen many times, including “Remember the Titans” and “Fast times at Ridgemont High”—both classic American movies that are perfect for this great car.

Over the years, Chevy has played with its design, but the Camaro has always had a decidedly sporty look. The 2022 rendition offers several thrilling powertrains and two V8 engines. It boasts a top horsepower of 650 and 455 pound-per-foot torque along with its 8-speed automatic transmission that will get you from zero to 60 in mere seconds.

It provides a really fun behind-the-wheel experience, taking turns with grace and ease. Plus, it reaches 130 MPH at top speed (where or when you achieve that is your business). And, as far as sports cars go, it offers good passenger comfort, too. So being in this car isn’t just fun for the driver.

Over 5 million units of this beauty have been sold since its release in 1967, proving that Americans just can’t get enough of this sleek and powerful vehicle. One would think that a car this cool would come with a hot price tag; however, starting MSPR is just $25,000. No wonder you see so many of these zipping around the highway. Like they always do, Chevy proved with this car that an extraordinary driving experience isn’t just for those with deep pockets.

Chevy Equinox

One common theme that shows up across all Chevy vehicles is Chevy’s ability to smash car stereotypes. Take the Chevy Equinox, for example. Many associate SUVs with bulky, awkward utility vehicles. They’re for carting around the entire family and their stuff, but not always designed to look good. That’s not the case with the Chevy Equinox. This sleek vehicle looks equally at home by the kids’ soccer game as it does in the valet of a five-star hotel. It proves that having tons of cargo and passenger space doesn’t mean compromising on aesthetics.

The 2022 offering is a highly customizable vehicle with all sorts of luxury upgrades, from heated seats to illuminated sun visors. Its safety package is extensive, with available forward collision mitigation, lane departure warnings, and a rear-seat reminder that tells you to look behind you before backing up. It’s no wonder that over 160,000 of these vehicles were sold in 2021.

With the pandemic inspiring many to take long road trips over flying, drivers wanted a great SUV with impressive MPG, and all the creature comforts passengers need to be happy. The Equinox stood out right away, and we anticipate this star isn’t done rising.

The Chevy Caprice

The Caprice is somewhat of an honorary mention because while it’s no longer being manufactured, it’s a bit of a celebrity in the Chevy world and deserves a spot on our list. While perhaps not as flashy as the Camaro, the Caprice has been a member of the Chevrolet family for longer. Though technically classified as a sedan these days, its earliest renditions had a unique body type not often seen anymore. Their distinct long nose and sloped roof had relaxed vibes, making this car perfect for a drive-in movie or Sunday cruising. It has had coupe and station wagon variations and is equally good for families or individuals and suburban or urban life.

Chevy stopped making the Caprice for some time, then brought it back as a police car and eventually discontinued it again. That makes it a rare find these days, but it still has a cult following that’s excited when they spot one in the wild. While you can’t find a new one, it was one of the top-selling Chevys during its heyday. You’ll still find forums of car enthusiasts online demanding that the Caprice come back.

The Corvette Coupe

The Corvette Coupe has one of the higher MSRPs offered by Chevy, but fans of this car would say that it’s well worth it. It offers a thrill ride with style and zips around streets with easy handling. Plus, it’s available in a convertible for those who want to enjoy some fresh air while satisfying their need for speed.

While the sales of this vehicle are lower than others on this list, they have been growing at a rapid rate. In fact, sales of this coupe nearly doubled between 2018 and 2021. Americans love this car, and reports show that 90 percent of its units ordered in 2021 were for U.S.-based customers.

It can reach a top track speed of 194 MPG, offering a race track experience to the regular consumer, and goes from zero to 60 in under three seconds. With a max torque of 470 lb-ft, it’s got a lot of power. Distinctive lines, a unique profile, and elegant details make this a head-turner.

With an SUV, a pickup, two sports cars, and a sedan on our list, one can easily see how Chevy has left its mark in nearly every category of car.
