Few brands have ever come close to matching the reputation of performance, precision, and prowess of Chevrolet. Sometimes referred to as the bow-tie brand by loyalists and admirers, Chevy has built a reputation for vehicles that serve drivers well, from all walks of life and a vast array of different needs. Nowhere else is that more prevalent than in the various pickup trucks that deliver the goods and go the distance. And today, we’re taking a closer look at the 2024 model year lineup and some of the advantages that each one possesses. Because here, at Parkway Chevrolet, we take pride in being a truck dealer that offers the very best to the individuals who shop with us.

2024 Chevy Colorado

The Chevy Colorado, which succeeded the much-adored Chevy S-10 as the brand’s compact pickup, has quickly made a name for itself as an example of packing more excellence into a smaller package. And while the vehicle has certainly been generating a fair amount of excitement since its debut, the 2024 model year is set to be one where the Colorado really establishes a reputation for itself. Priced lower than the Nissan Frontier or Honda Ridgeline, the Colorado is poised to take its place among the off-roading greats. There are three off-road specific trims: the Z71, ZR2, and the highly anticipated ZR2 Bison. Across all trims, a turbocharged four-cylinder engine delivers on the promises of power and performance, with horsepower ranging from 237 to 310, depending on trim level. Whether you need a truck for the rough and tumble world of off-roading or the occupational obligations of your work, the Colorado leads its class in towing capacity with a rating of 7,700 lbs. Chevy’s dedication to quality extends to the exterior of the Colorado as well, with all trims benefitting from an infotainment screen that stretches past eleven inches. Inside and out, the Chevy Colorado is the total package, albeit shrunk down for convenience.

2024 Chevy Silverado 1500

For those who are either pickup truck enthusiasts or die-hard devotees of Chevy, the Silverado 1500 needs very little in the way of introduction. A flagship model for Chevy since its debut during the 1999 model year, the vehicle has risen to the occasion year after year to outperform similar offerings from Ford and RAM.

Quite a few notable changes have occurred for the 2024 model year, the first of which is the rechristening of the vehicle’s turbocharged four-cylinder engine, which is now known as the TurboMax. The base trims of the Silverado 1500 have been equipped with more driver-assist and safety features, and the High Country now comes standard with adaptive cruise control and can be outfitted with GM’s SuperCruise hands-free technology. Its generous towing capacity of 13,300 lbs overpowers the RAM 1500, and all engines with the exception of the TurboMax are paired with a ten-speed automatic transmission for optimum performance. Some capable powertrain offerings make a welcomed return in 2024, such as the 5.3L and 6.2L V8 and the Duramax Turbo-Diesel, which now pushes out an astonishing 495 lb-ft of torque and allows for towing tasks that are shockingly massive.

2024 Chevy Silverado EV

At last, the wait is finally over. In January of 2022, Chevy made an announcement that so many had been waiting for—the Silverado was going electric! While some full-sized SUVs are still using PHEV and hybrid powertrains, the Silverado EV is an all-electric offering that has the potential to shift the paradigm of the entire industry. At first glance, the Silverado EV looks like a welcomed return of an old friend, as it bears a strong resemblance to the Chevy Avalanche, a vehicle that has a special place in the hearts of many bow-tie brand enthusiasts. But its looks are only one small part of what makes the vehicle so impressive. Its horsepower will range from 510 to 754, making it one of the most powerful offerings in the year ahead. If that wasn’t enough, the Silverado EV will still be a workhorse, offering a towing capacity of 10,000 lbs. With its all-electric powertrain, you’ll be able to not only bypass the pump, but multiple charging stops as well, as the estimated range on a full charge is 450 miles.

2024 Chevy Silverado 2500 & 3500 HD

In the world of pickup trucks that are designed to offer more power than the competition and do an impeccable job of doing so, these are the Big Kahunas. The 2500 & 3500 HD editions of the Silverado are what you get when the impossible needs to be accomplished against all odds. The most exciting news for the 2024 model year is the inclusion of a ZR2 trim for Chevy’s most capable towing machines. The new trim features everything the avid off-roader could ask for, including 18-inch wheels, all-terrain tires, skid plates to protect the underbelly from rocks, dirt, and debris, and a customized suspension with customized shocks. As has been the case in previous years, there are two available 6.6L V8 engines—a gasoline option that delivers 401 hp and a diesel option that pushes out 975 lb-ft of torque and allows for a maximum towing capacity of 36,000 lbs in the 3500, when properly equipped. The fact that Chevy has taken the initiative and made its HD trucks just as capable at work and play is one more reason why it’s best to expect more in 2024.

2024 Chevy Silverado 1500 ZR2

In the world of off-roading, there can be no room for weakness or vehicles that take chances. Luckily, we’re concluding our look at the 2024 Chevy truck lineup with a vehicle born and bred to tear and shred. The Silverado 1500 ZR2 is a masterpiece in power and capability, specifically built for the road less traveled. There’s much more to off-roading than having 4WD and a robust powertrain, but the ZR2 has both, which can make your biggest adventures happen. You have a choice between a 6.2L V8 with 420 hp or a turbocharged diesel six-cylinder with 305. Avoiding obstacles that might impede your journey is easier than ever before, thanks to a ground clearance of more than eleven inches. As is to be expected, there are plenty of extras for the avid adventurer, such as a full-locking front and rear differential, a lifted suspension with DSSV dampers and shock absorbers, and a variety of skid plates to keep your undercarriage protected, no matter where your adventures might take you.
