Look no further than Parkway Chevrolet, located conveniently in Tomball. We proudly stand behind the quality vehicles on our lot, both new and used. The Chevrolet lineup is diverse, featuring large SUVs, versatile pickup trucks, and high-performance sports cars. With so many different styles to choose from, ranking them can be like comparing apples to oranges, but today we’re going to highlight some of the Chevy vehicles that are our personal favorites.

The Chevy Equinox

The great thing about the Equinox is how well-rounded it is. While many vehicles have some areas where they excel and others where they fall significantly short, it’s difficult to pin down an Achilles’ heel for this outstanding SUV. It has a spacious cabin that can easily be reconfigured to fit plenty of passengers or haul ample cargo. One common tradeoff for this is fuel economy, but the Equinox has long had an efficient engine under the hood. A 2018 Equinox has an average fuel economy rating of 28 MPG, according to the EPA, which is the same as the 2023 model. So if you need to commute to Houston or take a road trip with the family now and then, heading out in the Equinox shouldn’t break the bank.

The Equinox also handles quite well for its size, making it fun to drive and easy to stay in control, even if you come across some twists and turns in the road. Inside, you’ll find plenty of useful technology, whether you opt for a new model or one that’s a few years old. A 2017 Equinox comes with Bluetooth connectivity, Wi-Fi, and a color touchscreen. In the 2018 model year, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto became standard, making it easy to use the same apps you’re used to on your phone via the vehicle’s interface.

The Chevy Silverado 1500

If you have some tough jobs that need doing, the Silverado is up to the task. They say everything’s bigger in Texas, and if that’s true of your trailers and payloads, you need a truck that works as hard as you do. Luckily, the Silverado has some impressive capacities for a light-duty truck. When properly equipped, a 2020 Silverado 1500 can tow up to 13,400 lbs and haul over 2,000 lbs of payload in the bed. If you need more than that, you can move up to the Silverado HD, but for most truck owners, the Silverado 1500 will more than cover your everyday needs.

It can also be configured in a number of ways, so you have plenty of options to choose from. Powertrains include turbocharged four-cylinder engines, V6s, and V8s, with gas and diesel-powered options available to get the power and efficiency you’re looking for. The Silverado 1500 is also available with different cab options and bed sizes, so if you’re looking for a particular amount of passenger or cargo space, let us know and we’ll find a configuration that works for you. The number of ways you can customize this truck makes it possible for each driver to get something just right for them, which is one of the many reasons we love the Silverado.

A red 2022 Chevy Corvette is shown from the rear on a track.

The Chevy Corvette

Do we really have to explain why the Corvette is one of our favorite Chevy models? Just one look at this iconic car makes us want to head down to Houston Raceway and feel the thrill of watching high-performance cars give it their all on the track. While the ‘Vette is certainly in its element in a situation where it can put its full horsepower to good use, it’s surprisingly comfortable on the freeway, too, making it a good choice for auto enthusiasts looking for an impressive piece of machinery that’s not too impractical for everyday driving.

The Corvette has been around for seven decades, but it’s far from coasting on its former glory; it continually improves with each model year. Every year from 2017 to 2022, the Corvette has not only been a Car and Driver Editors’ Choice but also made their coveted 10 Best List with a perfect 10/10 rating. The mix of a luxurious cabin, alluring bold styling, and an engine so mighty that to call it powerful feels like an understatement makes for a truly exhilarating driving experience.

The Chevy Colorado

If you want the practical advantages of a pickup truck but will never come close to making use of the Silverado 1500’s impressive towing and hauling capacities, consider the Colorado. It’s still very capable, but its smaller size makes it both more nimble and for a more affordable price tag. This makes it easier to maneuver in tight spaces and will come in handy if you’re looking for street parking in downtown Houston on a busy day. It can also be an advantage if you’re looking for an off-road trim.

There’s a reason why the Colorado has offered a rugged ZR2 trim since the 2017 model year, while the Silverado didn’t get its own version until 2022. Off-road trails can involve plenty of twists and turns where a mid-size pickup is just the right size for the job. And don’t worry; the Colorado still has plenty of room to bring all of your camping gear along for the trip. Any version of the Colorado is a quality truck, but its off-road versions truly deliver and make it one of our favorites.

A grey 2021 Chevy Tahoe is shown from the side after leaving an Aldine used Chevy dealer.

The Chevy Tahoe

We’ve said it before, and we’re not afraid to say it again: everything’s bigger in Texas. And if Texans aren’t willing to settle for cramped living quarters or anything less than wide, open spaces, why should we settle for third-row SUV seating that doesn’t provide decent legroom to anyone other than a young child? Well, with the Tahoe, you can give your passengers the space they deserve to stretch out and get comfortable on the road.

And if you’re filling all the seats up with passengers instead of folding them down for cargo space, you don’t have to worry about fitting all your luggage into the remaining interior space. The Tahoe can tow over 8,000 lbs, so you can always hook up a trailer and fill it up with anything else that needs to be brought along for the ride. Interior accommodations range from comfortable in the lower trims to downright luxurious at the higher levels. Extra goodies range from heated seats and a heated steering wheel to a panoramic sunroof and a power-folding third row that makes it easy to switch between the maximum amount of passenger seating and extra cargo volume at the push of a button.
