Your Chevy Colorado Trim Guide for 2024

Are you looking into a Chevy Colorado for sale but not sure what the different trims have to offer or which one is right for your needs? Chevy has created a diverse selection of models for the 2024 year for this popular midsize pickup. The Colorado has fewer model options than the full-size Silverado. However, its lineup is perfectly curated to meet the needs of just about any driver.
Whether you need a basic work truck perfect for contractor work and DIY projects, a commuter vehicle with some features that make your daily drive more enjoyable, an off-road truck ready for moderate environments, or an off-road truck ready for rough roads, there’s a 2024 Colorado for you. Below, we’ll cover the 2024 trims to ensure you find the perfect one for you.
The WT
If you just need a solid work-ready truck that combines practical utility with easy-to-handle dimensions, consider the WT. It’s going to have everything you need for a hard day’s work, including eight standard fixed tie-downs in the bed that are perfect for securing items like tools, materials, gear, and equipment. The spacious bed is just the right size for jobs around town.
You’ll find it easy to navigate a range of environments, too, thanks to the standard Chevy Safety Assist, a suite of six driver-assist features that keep you in the know. These include Forward Collision Alert with Automatic Emergency Braking, which will notify you if you’re at risk of running into the vehicle in front of you, and apply hard braking when necessary. It also includes Front Pedestrian Braking to avoid a collision with a pedestrian.
Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning is also part of this suite, and together they’ll alert you if you’re drifting from your lane as well as provide gentle steering inputs to re-center you in it. A Following Distance Indicator is part of this suite, as well, and helps you keep a safe distance from the vehicle in front of you. IntelliBeam high beams will automatically turn on in low-light settings and off when they sense oncoming traffic.
Under the hood of the WT, you’ll find the 2.7L turbo engine, which combines power with solid fuel economy figures. It’ll be paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission, allowing for plenty of smaller steps between the gear ratios when towing or changing environments. The WT rolls on 17-inch wheels with all-season tires that are ready for year-round use in mild climates. The WT provides the building blocks for the following trims, which will include all that this starting model has or build on it.

The LT
If you want a little more luxury and style in your work truck, consider the LT. It adds just the right amount of perks to the WT’s framework to keep you comfortable on long drives and improve utility and style. On the style front, the LT has the same size wheels as the WT, but they’re going to be argent metallic aluminum wheels. The LT gets the addition of a body-color front fascia, door handles, and rear bumper for a more elevated look. On the inside, you’ll find a jet-black interior with bright silver accents, creating a cabin that’s a little sharper in design than the WT.
On the practicality front, the LT enjoys Keyless Open and Start functionality. It will sense your key on your body as you approach and automatically unlock. And you don’t need a key to start the ignition. Your rear passengers will be comfortable on hot or cold days, thanks to the standard rear air vents sending them refreshing or warming air. In the front, you’ll get a center console, providing an extra place to keep small items. And in the back, you’ll get a remote locking tailgate, letting you secure the contents of your bed, even when you’ve already stepped away from it.
The Trail Boss
The 2024 Chevy Colorado’s lineup has a focus on off-road models. In fact, it has three, ascending in rugged abilities, starting with the Trail Boss. The Trail Boss takes a step up in the engine department to the 2.7L TurboMax. It’s going to get you 310 hp and 430 lb-ft of torque, more than the 2.7L turbo engine of the previous trims that provides 237 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. It also moves away from all-season tires to all-terrain tires, so it’s more ready for mud, dirt, sand, and other non-paved surfaces.
Another perk of this trim is the 2-inch factory-installed lift, giving you better ground clearance on bumpy terrain. You’ll command that terrain better, too, thanks to the four selectable drive modes of this trim. Plus, it has a 2-speed auto transfer case, which improves off-road fuel economy and performance.
The Z71
The Z71 is your level-two off-road Colorado model. Like the Trail Boss, it has the 2.7L TurboMax engine and all-terrain tires. The Z71, however, adds tons of features that make it ready for longer trips, in terms of utility and comfort. For example, it has outside heated power-adjustable mirrors that can melt away frost and help you easily improve visibility on the go. It also has a rear window defogger for more visibility perks.
You’ll get rear USB ports in this trim, so backseat passengers can plug in devices like phones and tablets. There’s even an interior 120-volt power outlet as well as one in the box, giving you plenty of possibilities for plugging in appliances and tools. If you’re hopping in your cab with muddy boots and gear, the good news is that the Z71 has Cloth and Evotex seat trim, which is easy to keep clean.

The ZR2
Now, we arrive at the ZR2, the upper off-road trim. It switches from all-terrain tires to mud terrain tires, which are arguably the best off-road tires for channeling all sorts of mud, slush, and other debris away from your vehicle. The ZR2 takes you from a 2-inch factory lift to a 3-inch one. Plus, it adds a high-performance suspension and aggressive dampers to absorb shock on bumpy roads. You’ll get not four but five drive modes in this trim for command on even more types of terrain.
The bed area will impress you, too, with its spray-on bedliner that improves bed longevity and the StowFlex tailgate. This special tailgate had a lockable storage compartment, complete with a drain, so you can use it as a cooler. You’ll find added comfort perks here, too, like an 8-way power driver seat adjuster and power driver seat lumbar control.
