Five High-End Used Trucks You Should Look For

When you start looking at used trucks for sale near Cypress, you might worry that going with a pre-owned model means you have to miss out on luxury features or sophisticated options. We’ve had customers come to us with the idea that the only used vehicles out there are beaten-up old jalopies on their last legs (or wheels, if you will). In reality, however, shopping used means you can get refined luxury, remarkable performance, and sophisticated features inside and out while also going easier on your wallet. You simply have to look for high-end or pinnacle trim levels of popular trucks to find these things. To show you what we mean, let’s take a look at five examples of these trucks—we’re going with the 2021 model year purely as an example—and the kinds of features you can find on them.
The 2021 Chevy Silverado 1500 High Country
Kicking things off, we have the perfect showcase for where sophistication and value meet: the Chevy Silverado 1500 High Country. While a lot of people go for GMC models over Chevy for luxury and refinement, Chevy is no slouch either (we’ll get to GMC in a moment). Looking at the High Country, the pinnacle trim for the 2021 Silverado 1500, you’ll find one of three engines: a standard 5.3L V8 with 355 hp, a 6.2L V8 with 420 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque, or a 3.0L turbo-diesel with 460 lb-ft of torque. This means you get excellent power and performance in any High Country model, but it’s worth taking some time to find the engine you want.
On the outside, the High Country features chrome wheel-to-wheel assist steps that look stunning and make it easy to get in and out of the truck, along with a Chevytec spray-on bedliner, heated and power-adjustable side mirrors, and a power-up/-down tailgate. Chevy’s impressive six-function Multi-Flex tailgate is available on this truck, so you can find that too. Inside, the 2021 High Country features an eight-inch configurable driver display, an eight-inch Infotainment screen, and a seven-speaker Bose sound system. More recent High Country models have even larger displays and more great features inside, so keep that in mind, too.
The 2021 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali
As much as we love what the Silverado 1500 High Country has to offer, we’ll admit that GMC tends to deliver more luxury and refinement in their vehicles (that’s what they’re known for, after all). Looking at the 2021 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali, you’ll find the same three engines on it as the Silverado 1500, so you get excellent performance, and all are paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. All Denali models have a premium suspension with Adaptive Ride Control for an incredibly smooth and responsive ride, plus a Traction Select System with Tow/Haul Mode that’s perfect for driving around Cypress and doing some towing.
While a six-function tailgate is available on Silverado High Country models, it’s standard on the 2021 Sierra 1500 Denali, so you’ll find it on every used Denali. You’ll also find a spray-on bedliner plus a CornerStep rear bumper that makes it easy to reach things in the bed of the truck. Every 2021 Denali comes with heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, and a heated steering wheel—you might not use the heating much in Cypress, but if you visit family in the Midwest for holidays in the winter, you’ll be happy to have it. A Bose premium sound system is standard, while select used models include a Bed View camera and 15-inch multicolor head-up display for added functionality.
The 2021 Jeep Gladiator High Altitude
We might have a preference for GM trucks, but that’s not all we offer when it comes to great used pickups that include refined features and options. The Jeep Gladiator is a midsize truck with an impressive off-road focus; numerous trims are available, but the High Altitude is one to look for if you want elevated luxury. This beast comes with a 3.6L V8 engine (though some models have an EcoDiesel engine instead) along with a Command-Trac four-wheel drive (4×4) system, heavy-duty axles, and skid plates for the fuel tank and transfer case. A used model might not have the original Bridgestone tires, but you should still find 20-inch wheels on it.
Inside, the High Altitude surrounds you with comfort and convenience—even out on the trail. You get Nappa leather-trimmed seating that’s incredibly comfortable and looks great with quilting and Caramel accent stitching. A leather-wrapped steering wheel is included with this model, along with a seven-inch Driver Information Display and an 8.4-inch Infotainment screen. A nine-speaker Alpine sound system is standard for the High Altitude, while available features include a wireless Bluetooth speaker, roll-up tonneau cover, and more. This is a great choice if you do a lot of camping and want a sophisticated truck that’s ready to take you off-road.
The 2021 Ford F-150 Limited
The Ford F-150 has been an automotive legend for more than 40 years, and it’s a great one to look for if you want a used truck. With the F-150, the Limited trim delivers the finest luxury features and options; it comes with a 3.5L V6 engine, though a full hybrid V6 with more power is available, so look for that if you want high performance. A 10-speed automatic transmission is standard along with rear-wheel drive (RWD), though you can also find F-150 Limited models with 4×4. Power-deployable running boards are standard on this model, which makes it easy to get in and out, along with LED exterior lighting for excellent illumination at night.
Ford makes the interior of the 2021 F-150 Limited all about luxury and comfort, starting with gorgeous Venetian leather seats. You get heated and ventilated seats up front with a memory setting for the driver, which makes it easy to share your truck with another person. An impressive 12-inch digital instrument cluster screen is paired with a 12-inch LCD center stack display, which makes it easy to use different apps and keep track of the information you need. With Ice Blue ambient interior lighting, power-adjustable pedals, and dual-zone automatic temperature control, the Limited model is incredibly fun to own and drive around Cypress each day.
The 2021 Ram 1500 Limited
Rounding out some of our favorite options for a comfortable and luxurious used truck is the Ram 1500, specifically the Limited trim (not to be confused with the F-150 Limited). Ram has been pushing the limits of refinement and sophistication in their trucks lately, so they’re good to check out for these things. The 2021 Ram 1500 Limited comes with an impressive 5.7L HEMI V8 engine; a version with a mild-hybrid eTorque system is available, so look for that if you want enhanced power. You can also find a 3.0L EcoDiesel engine on some used Limited models; RWD is standard with 4×4 available.
The Ram 1500 Limited looks gorgeous thanks to a chrome-surround grille, chrome bodyside molding, and 20-inch wheels—it also has power running boards for you to use. Inside, you’ll find impressive features, including Limited-specific premium leather upholstery and wood treatment for added style and sophistication. You’ll find a seven-inch color cluster display in this model, paired with a 12-inch Infotainment screen for all of your apps. Other features like a wireless charging pad, LED interior lighting, and a 10-speaker Alpine sound system are also standard in all Limited models—some models have an available 19-speaker Harman Kardon sound system instead, so keep that in mind.
