Find Electric Performance in These Three Powerful Pre-Owned Pickups

Pickup trucks make just about anything possible when it comes to work and recreation. Historically, however, trucks haven’t had the best reputation as far as fuel efficiency and pollution go. Fortunately, more truck manufacturers are offering electrified models and some even have a couple of years under their belts now, which means you can find them pre-owned. If you’re looking for used trucks for sale near Fulshear that have electric powertrains, we’d love to assist you!
We proudly carry used electric trucks from top brands, and can’t wait to help you choose yours! Our pre-owned trucks deliver the power and performance hard workers need from a pickup, while offering the efficiency and added benefits of an electric vehicle. For now, the EV truck market remains small, but there are a few solid used options to explore. We’ll go over the three top contenders below.
The Chevy Silverado EV
If you’re already a fan of the Chevy Silverado, then you know what a reliable and versatile pickup it is. The Silverado has been a member of the Chevy family for decades, and it’s a model that a variety of professionals, from farmers to contractors, count on. In 2024, Chevy gifted us with an electrified version, combining the perks of an EV powertrain with the features drivers already love in the Silverado.
The Silverado EV boasts an incredible all-electric range that the EPA puts at up to 493 miles. You also don’t sacrifice any capabilities here. The Silverado EV can tow up to 12,500 lbs, making it a reliable workhorse. In its bed, it can haul up to 2,100 lbs (depending on the configuration and model year), so whether you’re transporting work tools or adventure gear, the Silverado EV offers noteworthy cargo capabilities.
The base WT trim will be your go-to for a solid work truck. However, the Silverado’s popular performance trim, the RST, is available for the electrified truck. That’s great news for drivers after some added comfort and convenience perks and street-ready style details, like head-turning metallic aluminum wheels.
No matter which trim you choose, you’ll enjoy a best-in-class 17.7-inch touchscreen. This laptop-sized display makes it easier than ever to view your turn-by-turn directions, playlists and media, and important journey information.
One of the most popular features of the Silverado EV, however, has to be the Multi-Flex Tailgate and matching Multi-Flex Midgate. The midgate lets you fold down the divider between the bed and the cab to fit longer items. If you also engage the primary gate load stop, you’ll have room for items up to nearly 11 feet in length.
If any feature competes with that as the top feature of this truck, it’s the 10.2 kW PowerBase system with up to 11 outlets. It can power tools, appliances, and electronic devices, which should come in handy when the outlets at your job or campsite are all occupied. Paired with the available vehicle-to-home charging kit, the Silverado EV can even serve as a backup energy source for your home during a blackout.
Super Cruise, Chevy’s hands-free driver assist technology, is another buzzworthy feature in this pickup. It can take over steering, braking, and accelerating on compatible roads, letting you take a load off on long drives across Texas.
The Ford F-150 Lightning
Ford made the same clever move as Chevy when it electrified its popular full-size pickup in 2022. The result is the F-150 Lightning, which is a solid EV truck. Its electric range is quite a bit lower than the Silverado EV’s, at up to 320 miles. So if you plan on putting a lot of miles on your truck, you might be better off with the Silverado EV, but the F-150 Lightning will get the job done for in-town driving around Fulshear.
The F-150 Lighting also has an onboard power source, called Pro Power Onboard. It offers up to 9.6 kW of mobile power. So, it’s not going to be able to run some of the more power-hungry devices the Silverado EV can, but it’s good to go for modest power tools and appliances.
The F-150 Lightning can tow up to 10,000 lbs, which should have you covered for small boats, trailers, and campers, and its bed can support up to 2,235 lbs. You do get more payload capacity in the F-150 Lightning compared to the Silverado EV, but you lose 2,500 lbs of towing power.
Inside the cab, you’ll find an available 15.5-inch touchscreen or the standard 12-inch touchscreen. Both are competitive for the market, but don’t come close to the standard 17.7-inch display of the Silverado EV.
The Rivian R1T
As a newer company, Rivian has been making waves in the EV truck market since it launched the R1T in 2022. Rivian’s vehicles are exclusively electric, so what they lack in experience, they make up for in focus.
The Rivian R1T enjoys an electric range of up to 420 miles, so it’s a good choice for commuters and road trippers. Drivers also appreciate its selectable drive modes, which let you adjust vehicle dynamics to your environment. The Rivian’s impressive ground clearance is another standout feature, with select models sitting 14.9 inches above the terrain.
The Rivian R1T can tow up to 11,000 lbs and has a max payload of up to 1,984 lbs, depending on the configuration and model year. Like the other two trucks on this list, it has a number of power outlets. However, this truck can only supply 1.5 kW of power for external devices, slotting in significantly lower than the Silverado EV or F-150 Lightning.
With a 15.6-inch standard touchscreen, the Rivian R1T is nearly head-to-head in infotainment with the F-150 Lightning. Since Rivian is still a baby brand, there isn’t as much information available about how its vehicles perform in the long term as there is for established brands like Ford and Chevy. But if you’re willing to give a newcomer a shot, Rivian has been getting good reviews thus far.
Charge Forward in an Electric Truck Right for Your Life
The pre-owned EV truck market is small, but it is also mighty. These three options cover a range of drivers with different budgets and demands. The Silverado EV does offer the biggest touchscreen (by far), the most powerful onboard generator (again, by far), and better towing figures than its competitors. However, being able to explore various options lets you make an informed decision. We proudly carry used EV trucks from different trusted names on our lot, so Fulshear drivers can find the right fit.
