The 2020 Chevrolet Equinox is a compact crossover that provides buyers at dealers like the Humble Chevrolet dealership with comfortable seating, enough legroom to keep passengers relaxed, and plenty of space for cargo. Equinox owners also enjoy a smooth and pleasant ride. While most rival crossovers are limited to a single engine, the 2020 Equinox offers buyers a choice of two powerplants.
The 2020 Chevrolet Equinox has seating for five passengers and is offered in four trim levels: L, LS, LT and Premier. The Equinox gets a standard turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 170 horsepower and 203 lb-ft of torque, teamed to a six-speed automatic transmission. According to the Chevrolet dealership serving Humble, customers who want more power can select the available turbocharged 2.0-liter engine, which puts out 252 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque, mated to a nine-speed automatic. All Equinox trim levels get standard front-wheel drive, and all-wheel drive is available on all models except the base L.

Equinox L
Most buyers probably won’t choose the base L trim, as it’s only available as a custom order, which means there will be a wait while it’s being specially built. Those who decide to buy the L will get automatic headlights, LED daytime running lights, heated mirrors, keyless entry and ignition, and height-adjustable front seats. Also standard are a 7-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a six-speaker stereo system, OnStar with 4G LTE connectivity and a Wi-Fi hotspot, and Bluetooth.
Standard safety and driver-assist features include automatic high-beam control, forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking and pedestrian detection, lane departure warning and mitigation, and a rearview camera.
Equinox LS
The LS trim opens the door to available all-wheel drive and more exterior paint colors. Buyers can choose the optional LS Convenience package, which comes with a power-adjustable driver’s seat and rear privacy glass.
Equinox LT
Step up to the LT trim and you’ll get xenon headlights, a driver's seat that’s power-adjustable, auxiliary rear-seat release levers and satellite radio. Two option packages are on offer. The Confidence and Convenience package adds remote start, heated front seats, rear parking sensors dual-zone automatic climate control, blind-spot monitoring and a power liftgate. The Infotainment package comes with navigation, an 8-inch touchscreen and extra USB ports.
Equinox Premier
The top-spec Premier trim gets the features of the Equinox’s option packages, as well as LED headlights and taillights, driver-seat memory, a wireless device charger and a hands-free liftgate.
Buyers can get options like a 360-degree parking camera and a Bose premium sound system with the Confidence and Convenience II and Infotainment II and packages.
Whichever trim level you select, you’ll get a vehicle that has been proven to be very safe. The 2020 Chevrolet received the top score of five stars by the NHTSA for overall safety. Meanwhile, the IIHS awarded the 2020 Equinox its highest rating of Good in all crash tests. The agency also named the Equinox one of its Top Safety Pick models.
