The vehicles made the list by how well they fit the average family's need for roominess, safety, fuel economy and family-friendly features.
The Chevy Suburban was named top full-size SUV, thanks to its nine-passenger comfort and nearly 46 cubic feet of usable cargo space. Its towing capacity of 9,600 pounds also won over the judges.
The all-new Chevy Traverse crossover was named because of its size, fuel economy and price.
The Chevy Equinox earned the title by its smaller engine and smaller price. The Equinox leads the crossover class with 32 miles per gallon.
