The Silverado 2500 HD debuts

The models powered by diesel features a smart exhaust brake system to reduce wear on the breaks.
The system creates pressure that helps slow the truck without using the brakes when the driver lets off the throttle.
At the same show, GM unveiled a 75th-anniversary version of the Chevrolet Suburban.
The 2011 Silverado HD has a new Duramax 6.6L diesel engine and Allison 1000 transmission combination for efficient fuel economy. It also offers fully-boxed frame assemblies, new asymmetrical leaf-spring rear suspensions, an improved 6.0L Vortec 6L90 powertrain, a new exhaust brake system, large brakes, efficient ride, as well as handling and steering.
The new truck lineup will increase to eleven 2500HD models and eight single and dual-rear-wheel 3500HD models. That includes a new 3500HD Crew Cab with a 6.5-foot cargo box.
