The Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD has always provided buyers at dealerships like the Houston Chevrolet dealer with plenty of power and capability. For 2020, Chevrolet has upped the Silverado 2500HD’s game and added even more comfort to create a pickup that excels in every area.

The most noteworthy changes for 2020 include a longer wheelbase and new engine choices. New towing technology features include an optional towing camera system that can display as many as 15 views. According to Houston Chevrolet, the Silverado 2500HD’s increased size means passengers will enjoy more room to stretch out and stay comfortable.

We’ll focus on the 2020 Chevrolet Silverado’s different trim levels and see what each one offers buyers.

The 2020 Silverado 2500HD is available in five trim levels, listed as Work Truck, Custom, LT, LTZ and High Country. The Silverado 2500HD is equipped with a 6.6-liter V8 engine that develops 401 horses and 464 lb-ft of torque, mated to a six-speed automatic gearbox. A turbocharged 6.6-liter diesel V8 powerplant that generates 445 hp and 910 lb-ft joined to an Allison 10-speed automatic transmission is optional on all trims except the Custom. The base V8 engine has a towing capacity of 17,400 pounds, while the diesel block can pull a maximum of 35,500 pounds.

Silverado 2500HD Work Truck

The Work Truck trim is relatively basic, but it comes with 17-inch wheels, a unique black flow-through grille bar, black outside vertical trailering mirrors, daytime running lamps, halogen reflector headlamps, a 40/20/40 split-bench front seat, a trailering package, cargo tie downs, a Side BedStep, a CornerStep rear bumper, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, the Chevrolet Infotainment 3 System with a 7-inch color touchscreen, and Bluetooth.

Silverado 2500HD Custom

The Custom trim gets many of the same features as the Work Truck, but it adds 20-inch wheels, more power accessories, body-color trim details and cruise control.

Silverado 2500HD LT

The LT trim adds more comfort features, including a leather-wrapped steering wheel, cloth upholstery, a remote-locking tailgate, and heated and power-adjustable mirrors. The LT also features 17-inch aluminum wheels and a bright grille bar with chrome-trimmed vertical grille elements.

Silverado 2500HD LTZ

The LTZ trim comes with a bright grille surround with chrome-accented grille inserts. Standard features include 18-inch aluminum wheels (20-inch wheels are available), LED daytime running lamps, LED reflector headlamps, LED taillamps, leather upholstery, power-folding mirrors, heated and power-adjustable front seats, an upgraded 8-inch touchscreen, and a seven-pin wiring harness with a trailer brake controller.

Silverado 2500HD High Country

The top-line High Country trim gets an exclusive grille with two-tone metallic trim, 20-inch polished aluminum wheels, 20-inch all-terrain blackwall tires, front bucket seats, heated rear outboard seats, cargo bed LED lighting, ventilated front seats, a spray-in bedliner, side assist steps, a Power Up and Down Tailgate, front and rear park assist, a premium Bose audio system and wireless charging.

Most of the features of the upper trim levels are available on the lower trims. Other options include the Z71 Off-Road package, advanced driver-assistance features, tow mirrors, extra trailer and bed cameras, and a head-up display.
